How to make easy and delicious Halloween themed food
for your Halloween Party!

JACK O' LANTERN PIZZA

INGREDIENTS
1 pre-made soft pizza crust dough
1 bag of pre-cut pepperoni
1 8 oz. bag mozzarella & cheddar cheese mix
1 8 oz. jar or can of tomato or pizza sauce
Any other toppings you and your friend's like.
1 Large Green Pepper
1 Jack-O-Lantern cookie sheet or plain cookie sheet

PREPARATION

1. Follow the instructions on the pizza dough tube for
pre-baking the crust after you shape it to the
Jack-O-Lantern pan or just make a pumpking shape on a
regular cookie pan.

2. After the crust is shaped, cover it with
the pizza sauce of your choice, add pepperoni and any
veggies you want.

3. Cover the entire pizza liberally with the
cheddar/mozzarella cheese mix, making sure to cover
anything underneath it.

4. Cut green peppers in to thin slivers, save a larger
piece to make the stem.

5. Lay pieces out to make the indentations of the
pumpkin.

6. Cut pieces of pepperoni to make the eyes, nose
and mouth of the Jack-O-Lantern.

7. You could also use a yellow pepper to do this for
variation on a meatless pizza.

8. Bake according to the instructions on the pizza crust
wrapper, usually about 20 minutes, but you'll know when
it's done. The cheese will be all bubbly and the crust will
be golden! It looks so yummy, you won't be able to wait to
taste it and, maybe, share with all your spooky friends!

NOT-SO-SCARY "FINGER" SANDWICHES
Make these with the kids! They'll have fun and the older
kids can be a great help!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
1 Loaf of White or Wheat Bread
12 Slices of Pre-Sliced American or Swiss Cheese
1/4 lb of Hard Salami (found in the Deli Section of your
supermarket)

WHAT TO DO:
1. Grab two slices of bread and place them on a cutting
board.
2. Make a cheese sandwich using both slices (you can insert
ham or turkey and whatever other filling and/or sauce you
think your guests will like)
2. Using a kitchen knife chop off the crusts (all 4
sides) of your sandwich.
3. Cut your bread square into 3 separate - 1" inch slices
(these will be the fingers)
4. Repeat until the whole loaf of bread is cut into slices.
5. Using a dull knife or side of a fork, make 3 small
indentations in the middle of your sandwich "fingers".
6. Cut Salami into rectangles (about the size of
a fingernail, but longer)
7. Insert salami "fingernail" into each end of your
"sandwich fingers"
8. Eat one and enjoy!!

TIP: Make sure to cover your sandwiches with saran wrap
after you are finished making them so that they stay soft
and fresh for your guests.
TIP: Hard-Salami works best because it will puncture the
bread and stay on the sandwich!
TIP: If you have a slightly sharp pizza cutter or a square
cookie cutter, have the kids help you cutting the crust off
of the bread!

TIPS FOR HAVING A SAFE HALLOWEEN

FOR KIDS & TEENS:

1. Always carry a flashlight (one for each child is best)
2. Walk, don't run.
3. Stay on Sidewalks
4. Obey traffic signals
5. Stay in familiar neighborhoods
6. Don't cut across yards or driveways.
7. Wear a watch you can read in the dark.
8. Make sure costumes don't drag on the ground.
9. Shoes should fit (even if they don't go with your
costume)
10. Avoid wearing masks while walking from house to house.
11. Carry only flexible knives, swords or other props.
12. (If no sidewalk) walk on the left side of the road
facing traffic
13. Wear clothing with reflective markings or tape.
14. Approach only houses that are lit.
15. Stay away from and don't pet animals you don't know.

FOR PARENTS:

1. Make your child eat dinner before setting out.
2. Children should carry quarters so they can call home.
3. Ideally, young children of any age should be accompanied
by an adult.
4. If your children go on their own, be sure they wear a
watch, preferably one that can be read in the dark.
5. If you buy a costume, look for one made of
flame-retardant material.
6. Older children should know where to reach you and when
to be home.
7. You should know where they're going.
8. Although tampering is rare, tell children to bring the
candy home to be inspected before consuming anything.
9. Look at the wrapping carefully and toss out anything
that looks suspect.
10. If your older kids don't want you to "tag" along, see
if you can park your car nearby, you can drive them from
one neighborhood to the next and drive them back home. More
importantly, you'll be close by.

TRICK-OR-TREAT FOR UNICEF
A great way to teach your kids the importance of caring for
others and being self-less. Most of the proceeds of this
years "Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF" will go to the younger
Katrina Victims. Your kids have most likely been subject to
seeing the horrible events in this tragedy, join in this
charitable tradition and give them the message that they
CAN help.

HOW IT WORKS:
Visit the www.unicef.com website. You will see a link to
trick-or-treat for unicef. For schools or larger groups,
have unicef send you a special "Unicef" treat box to
collect the money. They will also award the larger groups
who donate the most money!
Please visit their website for more information!

*In most cases, homeowners will not only donate but will
also treat each child with candy. It's a win-win situation!
